How to Apply for a Nursery Place
Little Acorns @ Axminster welcomes all children and caters for 2- 5 year olds. Our aim is to give your child the best possible start and a seamless transition to primary education. We would be thrilled to share the start of your child’s learning journey.
We welcome visits from parents and children who are considering applying for a place here. This is an opportunity for you to see what we have to offer. Visits are not a compulsory part of the admissions process and will not affect decisions on whether a place can be offered at our preschool.
If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact us to make an appointment;
Bea Osbon (Nursery Lead) 01297 33005 or email: Axminsterlittleacorns@acornacademy.org
Note of Interest Form
The Note of Interest for a Nursery Place is for parents / carers to complete when their child is too young to start, i.e. more than two terms ahead. We will then contact you nearer the time to ask you to complete the Nursery Application Form and Parent Declaration Form.
Nursery Application Form
To apply for a place at Little Acorns @ Axminster, please complete the Nursery Application Form and return this to the main school office or send as an attachment via email to: axminsterlittleacorns@acornacademy.org
Nursery Admissions Policy
All future admissions and requests for extra hours will be agreed in line with the Nursery Admissions Policy.
Parent Declaration Form
You will also be required to complete the Parent Declaration Form alongside the Nursery Application Form when you apply for a place. If you know or believe that your child’s address will change before admission, you must inform the school as this may affect your application.
Early Years Funding
Before making an application parents need to have checked their eligibility for 2-year-old funding here and the extended entitlement funding (15 and 30 hours) here; evidence of eligibility will be checked before an offer of a place is made.
Please refer to the Admissions and Fees section on our website for more information.
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
We advise all families to complete the Early Years Pupil Premium Declaration Form when applying for a Nursery place. Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding that is available to Early Years providers to support children’s development, learning and care. Eligibility for the Early Years Pupil Premium was extended to all children accessing the early education entitlements from April 2024.
