PTFA

Axminster Community Primary Academy has a thriving Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) committee. It is a registered charity set up to advance the education of pupils of the school, by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities at the school not normally provided by the school.

It has two main objectives.

  • To foster relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
  • To engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of pupils attending it

Membership is open, and indeed automatic, to parents of present and past pupils, staff, representatives of the school and its associated bodies, and friends of the school. Meetings of the PTFA committee are held two or three times per term and all are welcome to attend. The more the merrier!

What does the PTFA do?

To achieve the aims set out above we need funds and to raise those funds we organise a variety of events throughout the year.

Examples of these are the Summer Fair, Christmas Bazaar, assorted discos, X Factor, Quiz Nights, Chocolate Bingo and many others!

Oh…and we have an enormous amount of fun doing it!

There is, in our opinion, no better way to get involved with your child’s school life and be able to contribute in such a direct, hands on way. If you would like to join in, or maybe just find out more, then please come along to one of the Committee meetings. You would be very welcome and we always need more help.

And if you don’t want to help the PTFA directly that’s no problem. You can contribute to the School by coming along and enjoying the events that we put on throughout the year!
